Adrenaline junkies this is for you

My preparation for the Sprint championship at Stewartby.

With just a few days to go until the Sprints at Stewartby Lake,I`m just begining to get myself prepared.066 copy

As a keen photographer I want to make sure thatI don`t miss a chance of a good photo through any of my camera equipment not being checked over, this has happened in the past ,amidst much swearing and cursing, but we all learn by our mistakes.

As I have a race meeting at my local course,Oulton Broad on Thursday evening the batteries(I always carry at least 1 spare) and sd cards cannot be recharged and cleared until Friday evening. However I will make sure my lenses are clean and ready and that my Canon Eos 70d is free from dust and dirt. After charging the batteries and putting Thursday`sphotos onto my laptop,Ill make sure everything is packed and ready for Saturday.051

Although I have been visiting Stewartby for more years than I care to remember,I still try to think of any different spots around the course that can provide a new view of the racing. It`s so easy to stay in the same spot all the time and get the same shots. This is where advice from other photographers comes in useful.

So I`m hopefull ,as always of getting a few good photos,on average I will take 1500 -2000 mover the weekend. It should be an interesting and fun couple of days.

Lancashire GrandPrix

Only one week to go to the Lancashire Grand Prix,at Carr Mill, near St.Helens.                            This is the second event in the Powerboat GP British Powerboat Championship 2016, the first was held at Oulton Broad ,Suffolk earlier in the month.  566                                                                           I am particularly excited about this meeting as it will be my first visit to Carr Mill.I have been watching and photographing powerboat racing for about 40 years visiting most courses in this country and some in Europe,so thought it was about time I went here. 385                       The winners of the first event,Colin Jelf,Sam Whittle,Ben Jelf and Thomas Mantripp will be looking to extend their lead in the championship ,but all the other drivers will  be flat out to stop that happening. With the courses at Oulton Broad and Carr Mill being so different, different boat set ups will be needed so that could bring other boats into the equation. If there is one thing I have learned over the years it is that no one is sure of a win till the chequered flag drops, one mistake, one patch  of rough water, one gust of wind and the positions in the race change in an instant, that is one thing I love about powerboat racing.                                                                                                                                                                               I hope everybody has a great weekend and I hope to see you at the other events in the Powerboat Gp British Championships, and at The Powerboat GP European Championships at Stewartby, near Bedford in September .                                                                                    Bob.
